It is a Bengali dish and also a pure vegetarian recipe. Sheem/flat beans/board beans are basically wintered vegetable. Serve this recipe with steamed rice. Try it at your once.

1. Chopped Sheem/flat beans - 300 gm

2. Chopped potatoes - 2 medium size

3. Chopped Tomatoes - 2 large size

4. Daler Bori/lentil dumplings - 8 no.

5. Panchforon - 1/2 tsp

6. Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp

7. Salt to taste

8. Mustard seed paste - 1 tbsp.

9. Red chilli powder - 1/2 tsp

10. Slits green chilli - 2 no.

11. Mustard oil - 1 tbsp

12. Chopped coriander leaves - 1 tbsp.

13. Oil - 8 tbsp


  1. Cut the broad beans/Sheem and potatoes , wash it thoroughly.
  2. Add 2 tbsp of oil in a pan and heat it well.
  3. Then add lentil dumplings/daler bori and fry it for 2 min, once it fried well  take out and keep it aside.
  4. Add 2 tbsp of oil in same pan and fry potato , broad beans for 3 to 4 min.
  5. After 3 min take it out from the pan and keep it aside.
  6. Now add  2 tbsp of oil and heat it well.
  7. Then add panchforon saute it for few second.
  8. After that, add chopped tomato,salt to taste, red chilli powder and turmeric powder, mix it well .
  9. Then add fried potato, fried dumplings and broad beans/sheem, stir it well. fry it for 2 min on medium flame.
  10. After that add mustard seed paste and mix it well.
  11. Then add required water and 2 green chilies,stir it well.
  12. Cover it and cook it for 5 min on low flame.
  13. After 5 min open the lid and check it once, add chopped coriander leaves and mix it well.
  14. Now turn off the flame and serve it with steamed rice.
