Ingredients:
  1. Ilish / Hilsa fish -(600 gram)
  2. Green chilli and Mustard seed paste- (2 tbsp).
    {Green chilli=3,Mustard seed =1 tbsp}
  3. Black cumin/Nigella seed -(1/2 tsp)
  4. Turmeric Powder -(2 tsp)
  5. Salt to taste
  6. Dry red chilli -(3)
  7. Mustard oil -(1 tbsp)
  8. oil for frying -(2 tbsp)
  9. Water
Method:
  1. At first, clean and wash the fish very well.
  2. Now add 1/2 tsp of turmeric powder and 1/2 tsp of salt and marinate it, keep it aside for 10 min.
  3. In a mixing bowl add black mustard seed and green chilli, add some water and soak it for 15 min.
  4. Now add soaked mustard seed and green chilli in a grinding jar and blend it into a fine paste.
  5. After that, heat mustard oil in a pan.
  6. Now add marinated fish one by one in hot oil and fry each side for 1 min.
  7. After frying takes out from the pan and keeps it aside.
  8. Then add nigella seed and saute it for few second.
  9. After that, add mustard seed paste along with turmeric powder and salt, fry it for 2 min on medium flame.
  10. Now add required water and boil it for 2 min on medium flame.
  11. After 2 min adds fried fish and slit green chilli, cover and cook it for 3 min on medium flame.
  12. Then open the lid and checks it once.
  13. Turns off the flame and sprinkle some mustard oil.
  14. Serve it with steamed rice.
